Learning Institutions

53 colleges and universities are located less than three hours from Russell County that help grow our workforce. Notably, six of these hold certifications from the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), a national accrediting agency for applied science, computing, engineering and engineering technology programs.

Highways and Interstates

Several four-lane highways provide navigation in the county, with U.S. Routes 19 and 58 connecting to Interstate 81 in Abingdon and Interstate 77 in Princeton, West Virginia. Interstate 26 can be accessed in Tennessee and Interstates 40 and 75 can be accessed in Knoxville – all by taking U.S. Route 19 in Russell County to Interstate 81.
